Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator of the Nadi Town Council, announced that preparations for the park are nearly complete.

Raiwalui noted that this concert aims to introduce a new standard for events in Nadi. “This show will bring a different taste, showcasing the sounds of the Pacific that embody the spirit of Fiji,” he stated. “This is going to be a significant event for Nadi, and we are fortunate to host it here. While they will cover all expenses related to Prince Charles Park, we will manage the parking facilities, with Koroivolu Park being utilized for additional space.”

The council is keen to collaborate with musicians for future events. “We are open to working with artists if there’s interest in making this an annual celebration,” Raiwalui added.

The concert marks George Veikoso’s return after 40 years of promoting Pacific music globally. He emphasized that this homecoming is more than just a performance. “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us. For four decades, I’ve had the honor of sharing the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific with audiences worldwide. Now, it’s time to complete that journey and return to where it began. I am privileged to share this music with you alongside remarkable artists like J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi,” Veikoso expressed.

He conveyed that the event will not only celebrate his return but also the unifying and inspiring power of music. “This concert is a tribute to our shared heritage, and I look forward to experiencing this unforgettable night with everyone.”

A representative from Tourism Fiji commented, “We are excited about George Fiji Veikoso’s Homecoming Concert. This event highlights his exceptional talent while promoting Fiji’s vibrant music scene. It provides an excellent opportunity to stimulate our local economy, foster community spirit, and showcase Fiji’s unique attractions to international visitors. Events like this underscore our rich culture and warm hospitality.”

Ticket prices range from $79 to $999 for VIP access. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “I’m willing to pay to see Pojie, Josh, and Maoli perform. I appreciate how these artists are bringing their talents to our shores independently, relying on their hard work.”

He further added, “I will support Pojie because he has represented our music globally. It’s going to be an epic experience. If you can make it, be there, but don’t worry if you can’t. I hope to see you in Nadi.”

The concert is scheduled for September 14-15.
