Prince Charles Park is set to host the upcoming George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator and chairperson of the Nadi Town Council, announced that the final preparations for the park are currently underway.

Mr. Raiwalui expressed that the concert will introduce a new standard for events in Nadi. He noted, “This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji.” He emphasized the significance of hosting the concert, stating, “This is going to be big for Nadi. We are privileged to host it here. The organizers will cover all expenses at Prince Charles Park, while we will manage the parking arrangements, with plans to utilize Koroivolu Park for additional space.”

He further mentioned the council’s commitment to collaborating with musicians for future events. “We are ready to work with them if there is a plan for the show to be an annual event,” Mr. Raiwalui said.

The concert marks George Veikoso’s return to his homeland after 40 years of sharing Pacific music globally. He shared that this homecoming represents more than just a concert. “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all. For four decades, I have had the privilege of carrying the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific to audiences around the world,” Mr. Veikoso stated.

He expressed his honor in returning home, eager to share the music that has defined his life alongside fellow artists J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi. “This event is a tribute to our shared heritage, and I can’t wait to experience this unforgettable night with all of you,” he added.

A spokesperson from Tourism Fiji conveyed excitement for the concert, stating, “We’re thrilled about George Fiji Veikoso’s Homecoming Concert. This event celebrates his incredible talent while also highlighting Fiji’s vibrant musical scene.” They noted the event’s potential to boost the local economy, foster community connection, and showcase Fiji’s unique cultural offerings to international visitors.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $79, $99, $350, and $999 for VIP access. Local artist Big Wilz expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I will gladly pay to watch Pojie, Josh, and Maoli. I appreciate that these artists are bringing their talents to our shores through their hard work, without relying on major sponsors.”

The concert is scheduled for September 14-15, and attendees are encouraged to join in this momentous celebration.
