The Local Government Ministry in Fiji has initiated the recruitment process for chief executive officers (CEOs) in ten municipal councils. This move aims to fill critical leadership roles that are essential for the effective delivery of municipal services, managing transformative projects, and leading significant reforms within the councils.

Minister Maciu Nalumisa emphasized that the advertising of these CEO positions is part of a broader initiative to enhance transparency in the recruitment process. He noted that many CEO roles have remained vacant for some time following the expiration of previous contracts.

The ministry’s advertisement sought qualified individuals capable of modernizing municipal operations, meeting community needs, and promoting sustainable practices. The councils looking to appoint new CEOs include Ba, Labasa, Lami, Lautoka, Levuka, Nadi, Tavua, Rakiraki, and Savusavu.

This recruitment initiative presents a promising opportunity for qualified individuals to step forward and contribute to the development of their communities. With new leadership in place, these councils can look forward to revitalized governance and improved services for the citizens they serve.

In summary, the Local Government Ministry is actively seeking skilled leaders to enhance the operational capacity of ten municipal councils in Fiji, signifying a commitment to improving local governance and community welfare.
