The Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign, which began in 2006 as a modest initiative, has evolved into the largest cancer awareness and fundraising event in Fiji.

Over the years, this campaign has been instrumental in providing essential patient care and support, saving numerous lives while enhancing cancer awareness.

The event holds significant importance for the Fiji Cancer Society and the Motibhai Group, reflecting their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Belinda Chan, Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Cancer Society, highlighted the impact of cancer on many Fijian families, resulting in both emotional and financial strain.

“Families may face a diagnosis, deal with the loss of a loved one to cancer, or receive troubling news themselves. This includes your employees, customers, and their families,” Ms. Chan stated.

She pointed out that taking part in the Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea is crucial for raising cancer awareness and providing support.

“By organizing a Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser, you will help us reach out to more Fijians with cancer awareness, advocacy, and patient support,” she added.

This year, the fundraising target is set at approximately $90,000 to acquire medical equipment.

Motibhai Group initially donated $15,000 and subsequently added $2,001, while Prouds Duty Free Stores at Nadi Airport contributed $9,500.

The morning tea event held in Nadi on August 7 successfully raised over $35,000.
