The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) will kick off the second phase of its reconciliation and restoration program early next year, focusing on community outreach and healing. This initiative aims to promote reconnection and understanding among communities impacted by past coups.
RFMF Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai emphasized the significance of this phase in rebuilding trust with the Fijian people. “Phase 2 is crucial for the RFMF as we reach out to communities, listen to their experiences, and engage in meaningful reconciliation efforts,” he stated.
This forthcoming phase offers an opportunity for the RFMF to foster healing and extend sincere apologies to those affected, as well as to gather insights from individuals about their struggles and survival stories.
Overall, the program reflects a commitment to fostering dialogue and understanding, aiming to bridge past divides and create a more harmonious society. This proactive approach not only seeks to mend relationships but also demonstrates a dedication to learning from the past to build a better future for all Fijians.
As the RFMF embarks on this journey towards reconciliation, it signifies hope for renewed relationships within the communities and a collective move towards healing and unity.
