The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Logistics Support Unit (LSU) celebrated its first Commanding Officer’s Parade on April 4, 2025, under the guidance of Major Sirino Ropate, at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua. Major Ropate addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of service quality over mere physical evaluations, stating, “Our work is not evaluated by the daily parade state or our BMI results, but by the service we deliver to the RFMF.”
He acknowledged the substantial support provided by defense partners, which has been instrumental in enhancing the skills and knowledge of RFMF personnel. Major Ropate expressed gratitude to the LSU members for their hard work during the first quarter of the year and called on them to maintain high performance standards for the rest of 2025.
This event resonates with a recent graduation celebration for officer cadets within the RFMF, showcasing the ongoing commitment to nurturing capable leaders who are prepared to uphold the core values of the military and serve the nation with integrity and dedication. Both occasions highlight the RFMF’s focus on service-oriented leadership, as articulated by both Major Ropate and Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua, who underscored the importance of responsibility and purpose in their military roles.
The combined emphasis on quality service, strong leadership, and dedication to national interests instills hope for the future of Fiji’s military and its contributions to the country’s security and democratic principles. As new officers and units prepare to take on their responsibilities, they carry the expectations of their families and the nation, embodying the spirit of service and excellence that defines the RFMF.
