Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, the Commander of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces, has received praise from notable political figures, including former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry and Unity Fiji party leader Savenaca Narube, for his initiatives aimed at addressing past military injustices.
Chaudhry acknowledged Kalouniwai’s efforts to reconcile with those who have been affected by military actions, particularly emphasizing the challenge of making amends with the Fijian Indian community. Narube stressed that political stability in Fiji hinges on a clear definition of the military’s role within the country.
