Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, special administrator of Nadi Town Council, has confirmed that preparations for the event are nearing completion.

Mr. Raiwalui emphasized that the concert will usher in a new era for events in Nadi. “This show will bring a unique flavor, showcasing the sound of the Pacific and embodying the spirit of Fiji,” he stated. He added that while the organizers will cover the costs at Prince Charles Park, the council will manage the parking, utilizing Koroivolu Park for additional space.

The concert marks Mr. Veikoso’s return after four decades of sharing Pacific music worldwide. He announced that this homecoming transcends a mere concert. “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all. I have been honored to carry the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific globally, and now it’s time to bring that journey full circle, back to where it all began,” he said. He will perform alongside esteemed artists such as J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi.

Mr. Veikoso stressed that the event would honor not just his return but also the unifying power of music. “This event pays tribute to our shared heritage, and I eagerly anticipate sharing this unforgettable night with everyone,” he added.

A spokesperson from Tourism Fiji expressed enthusiasm for the concert, highlighting its potential to celebrate Mr. Veikoso’s exceptional talent and promote Fiji’s vibrant music scene. “This is a wonderful opportunity to boost our local economy, foster community spirit, and showcase Fiji’s unique attractions to international visitors,” the spokesperson noted.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $79, $99, $350, and $999 for VIP access. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz shared his eagerness for the event, stating, “I will gladly pay to see Pojie, Josh, and Maoli perform. I’m grateful that they are coming to our shores through their hard work rather than big business sponsorships. This is going to be epic. Join us in Nadi, but no worries if you can’t make it.”

The concert is scheduled for September 14-15.
