Fiji’s Manshika Prasad Crowned Miss Universe Fiji 2024: A Journey to Empowerment

Manshika Prasad, a 24-year-old from Nausori, will represent Fiji at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this coming November. The Lakena native, who is currently studying for a Master’s in Business Administration in Australia, was selected from a pool of nine finalists during an elegant crowning gala held at the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Pacific Harbour.

Manshika completed her primary and secondary education at Saraswati Primary School and Bhawani Dayal Arya College before moving abroad to continue her studies. She is dedicated to advocating against domestic violence, sharing that the issue is personal to her due to its profound effects on individuals and families.

“I don’t seek this title for the glitz, glamour, or personal gain,” she stated. “Instead, I aim to use the Miss Universe platform to amplify the voices of those silenced by fear and violence. My goal is to raise awareness, inspire change, and help create a society where women feel safe, supported, and empowered.”

The Miss Universe Fiji event marked the country’s return to the global Miss Universe stage after 43 years. Finalists showcased their poise in three stunning fashion segments, including swimwear, resort wear designed by Tracey Ann Farrington, and a formal gown parade featuring self-styled creations.

The crown was awarded by Grant Dwyer, Marketing, Events & Sponsorship Director for Miss Universe Fiji, while judges distributed category awards. The event featured co-runners up 23-year-old Susan Ranadi and 30-year-old Nadine Roberts.

The judging panel consisted of notable figures such as Paris Jade, Grant Dwyer, Natalie Marletta, Riri Febriani, Raj Suri, Jennifer Chan, and Melissa White.
