The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Fiji is making strides in modernizing its transport services and enhancing accessibility throughout the nation. LTA Chair Lui Naisara announced that staff have undergone training across 25 new functions, which include data integration and frontline service delivery, aimed at increasing efficiency and improving customer experiences.
Naisara highlighted that more than 90 percent of customer service officers have participated in live demonstrations and hands-on training sessions. This initiative underlines LTA’s commitment to expanding its services for the country’s 240,000 registered vehicle owners and 3,000 licensed drivers. The Authority is focused on catering to both urban and remote communities, ensuring that all Fijians are effectively served.
He mentioned, “That alone is still small in terms of those who are well-registered vehicles in Fiji. To the greater Fijian communities and customers, both living locally and abroad, we have launched release one out of the eight releases which will span from the year 2025 to 2027.” This phased rollout reflects the LTA’s strategic approach to enhancing transport services across the country over the next few years.
Additionally, Naisara acknowledged the vital support of key Australian vendors in the development and implementation of these new systems, which will further bolster the LTA’s operations. This modernization effort represents an optimistic step forward for Fiji’s transport sector, promising improved service delivery to its users.
