Fijian 7s utility forward Ponipate Loganimasi is poised to make his test debut for the Flying Fijians, having been called up as a replacement for the injured winger Selestino Ravutaumada. Loganimasi, who has consistently performed in the international 7s arena, typically plays as a winger in 15s. He steps in as injury cover ahead of the Flying Fijians’ Pacific Nations Cup semifinal against the United States.
National Coach Mick Byrne has confirmed the roster change, stating, “Stino is being monitored at the moment after his shoulder surgery last Monday and will be out for a couple of weeks.” Byrne noted that Ravutaumada will begin rehabilitation to ensure a complete recovery before rejoining the Fiji squad for upcoming matches.
The match is set to take place tomorrow night at 10:05 PM.
