It is a significant affront to the people of Fiji that Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka continues to mislead the public. In a familiar pattern of reversal, he now has the Cabinet Ministers who have been accused of interference determining the terms of reference for the commission of inquiry and likely any subsequent actions.

Furthermore, he has claimed that “what has been done cannot be undone,” asserting that this situation will serve as a lesson for the future. This raises the question of the purpose of the commission if it is merely intended to gloss over the entire scandal.
