It is a significant affront to the Fijian people that Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka seems to continue misleading the public. In his typical manner of backtracking, he has now appointed the very Cabinet Ministers accused of interference to determine the terms of reference for the commission of inquiry and any subsequent actions.
To make matters worse, he asserts that “what has been done cannot be undone,” indicating that this will only serve as a lesson for the future. This raises the question: what is the purpose of this commission if it is merely intended to cover up the entire scandal?
