Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, leader of the People’s Alliance, affirmed his continued majority support from coalition partners Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP) after the recent swearing-in of three new Ministers and three new Assistant Ministers. Rabuka communicated that he had secured approval from these parties prior to the swearing-in ceremony, indicating robust coalition cooperation.

Viliame Takayawa, General Secretary of SODELPA, echoed Rabuka’s sentiments, emphasizing that the coalition remains strong and united, although he refrained from providing further comments. Similarly, the NFP reiterated their steady support for the coalition government, highlighting ongoing collaboration among the political entities involved.

These affirmations come amidst a backdrop of solidarity within the coalition, as both cabinet members and party leaders have expressed confidence in maintaining the coalition’s stability while working toward solutions for long-term national concerns. In a previous statement, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica stressed that the coalition’s relationship with all political factions remains strong, which is crucial as they address the significant challenges facing Fiji.

Looking forward, Rabuka has plans to visit New Zealand for discussions with the Prime Minister and to attend Fiji Day celebrations. He will also take part in the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa, striving for a prosperous future for the Fijian populace, especially the youth.

In summary, the coalition stands firm, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration in governance, as they tackle pressing issues and work towards a brighter future for Fiji.
