The Commissioner of the Online Safety Commission in Fiji, Mr. Filipe Batiwale, recently met with the Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu, to explore ways to enhance collaboration in combating online threats and cybercrime. During their discussion, Mr. Batiwale emphasized the importance of both organizations coming together efficiently to avoid duplicate efforts and to ensure a cohesive approach to the challenges posed by online safety issues. A significant aspect of their conversation centered on the need for the Fiji Police Force’s Criminal Investigations Department to partner more closely with the Online Safety Commission in order to devise practical solutions for the rising number of online complaints.

Commissioner Tudravu showed strong support for these programs and suggested a review of the existing Memorandum of Understanding to enhance operational effectiveness between the two entities.
