The Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas are excited for their inaugural match in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship this Sunday at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. Head Coach Marika Rodu expressed confidence in the team’s preparations as the tournament approaches.
“The preparation is going well, and we’re in our final week, keeping our focus. The girls are in good shape and eager for our opening match against Tonga,” Rodu stated. He recognized the challenges of a first match, particularly against Tonga, a team noted for its strong defense.
“The first match is always difficult, but our goal is to start strong and quickly find our rhythm,” he added. Rodu acknowledged that Tonga’s defensive style might pose challenges for Fiji in scoring but remains optimistic about their strategy.
“We’ve been developing plans to overcome their defense and secure vital points on Sunday,” he said. The match between Fiji and Tonga is set to begin at 3 pm this Sunday.
