Fiji’s Junior Kulas Gear Up for Thrilling OFC U-16 Championship Opener

The Fiji Junior Kulas are preparing to compete in the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, which starts on Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Head coach Marika Rodu has shared his confidence in the team’s readiness as they conclude their final week of training. He stated, “The preparation is well underway, and the girls are in good condition as we gear up for our first match against Tonga.”

Rodu anticipates a tough challenge in the opening match, recognizing that first games can be particularly challenging. He remarked, “We don’t expect the match against Tonga to be an easy one because the first match is always difficult, but the goal is to settle down and focus on the game.”

The coach also noted Tonga’s defensive strategies, mentioning their tendency to employ a low block, which could pose obstacles for Fiji’s attacking play. Despite this, Rodu remains optimistic about his team’s prospects, affirming, “We will look into that and aim to secure the three points on Sunday.” The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM.
