Fiji’s Junior Kulas Gear Up for Thrilling OFC Championship Opener Against Tonga!

The Fiji Junior Kulas are gearing up for the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, set to begin on Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Head coach Marika Rodu has expressed confidence in the team’s preparations as they enter the final week before the tournament. “Preparation is going well, and as we finish up our training, the girls are in good shape and ready for our opening match against Tonga,” Rodu stated.

He is aware that the match against Tonga will be challenging, as first games often present difficulties. “We don’t expect an easy match against Tonga because the first game is always tough, but our focus is on settling in and playing our game,” he noted.

Rodu pointed out Tonga’s defensive strategy, which often involves setting up a low block that may complicate Fiji’s efforts to score. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful about their chances, asserting, “We will work to counter that and aim for three points on Sunday.”

The match is scheduled to start at 3pm.
