The Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas are excited for their upcoming debut in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship this Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. With the tournament fast approaching, Head Coach Marika Rodu expresses confidence in the team’s preparations.
“The preparation is well underway, and we’re in our final week, keeping focused. The girls are in good shape and eager for our opening match against Tonga,” said Rodu. He acknowledged the unique challenges that come with a first match, particularly against a team like Tonga, recognized for its strong defense.
“The first match is always tough, but our goal is to start strong and settle into the game quickly,” he noted. Rodu mentioned that Tonga’s defensive tactics could pose difficulties for Fiji in scoring but remains optimistic about their strategies.
“We’ve been working on strategies to break their defense and secure those crucial three points on Sunday,” he added. The match between Fiji and Tonga is set to begin at 3 pm this Sunday.
