Fiji’s Junior Kulas Gear Up for Thrilling Championship Opener!

The Fiji Junior Kulas are gearing up for the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, which will begin on Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Head coach Marika Rodu has shared his optimism regarding the team’s preparation as they enter the final week before the tournament.

Rodu stated, “The preparation is well underway, and we are coming to our last week of preparation and trying to keep things down. The girls are in good condition and getting ready for the first match against Tonga,” as reported by Fiji FA Media.

He expects the opening match against Tonga to be a challenge, acknowledging that the initial game is often the most difficult. “We don’t expect the match against Tonga to be an easy one because the first match is always difficult, but the whole idea is to settle down and get straight into the game,” he noted.

Rodu pointed out Tonga’s likely defensive strategy, remarking on their tendency to adopt a low block, which could pose challenges for Fiji in breaking through. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful about the Junior Kulas’ prospects, stating, “We will look into that and secure the three points on Sunday.”

The match is set to kick off at 3 PM.
