FIJI Water Flying Fijians lock forward Isoa Nasilasila will not participate in the upcoming Tests against Spain and Ireland due to an injury sustained during the match against Wales. Head Coach Mick Byrne confirmed that the injury is serious enough to keep Nasilasila sidelined for the remainder of the Northern Tour.
Byrne described Nasilasila’s injury as “quite nasty,” though he refrained from detailing the specific nature of the injuries. However, it appears that Nasilasila will require an extended recovery period.
In addition, fullback Vuate Karawalevu also sustained an injury during the same match but is expected to be fit for selection next week. Coach Byrne noted that several players are dealing with minor issues from the Pacific Nations Cup, which adds to the challenges of playing four consecutive Tests.
While the loss of Nasilasila is a setback for the team, the hopeful news about Karawalevu’s return offers a silver lining. The team has the opportunity to regroup and focus on upcoming matches, demonstrating resilience in the face of injuries.
Overall, the Flying Fijians will need to adapt swiftly to maintain their competitive edge as they face strong opponents ahead. It is a chance for other players to step up and showcase their talent in the remaining fixtures.
