The 2025 Island Acro GymFest, hosted by Island Acro Head Coach Michelle Lassen at the VOU HUB in Nadi, has successfully brought together gymnastics clubs from across Fiji for a vibrant day of learning and celebration. This annual event has seen remarkable growth over the years, largely attributed to Coach Michelle’s unwavering commitment to promoting Gymnastics for All. Maria Alvarado, Director of the Gymnastics Federation of Fiji, expressed that the Island Acro GymFest has become an essential event for developing youth athletes and nurturing the gymnastics community in Fiji. Alvarado emphasized that Coach Michelle’s significant contributions have been crucial in uniting clubs nationwide and organizing this GymFest annually.
This year’s event highlighted youth empowerment through TeamGym and Performance challenges while showcasing the talents of participants in Aerobic Gymnastics routines. Young gymnasts also had the opportunity to engage in workshops featuring FreeG, Trampoline, and Tumbling activities, which have gained popularity among children.
The GymFest aims to strengthen collaborations between various clubs, including Flight Club, AeroGym Suva, and Kidsfirst Fiji.
