Fiji’s capacity to draw significant investments, exemplified by the Hilton Garden Inn project, underscores the confidence investors have in the nation’s economy, stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof Biman Prasad. During the topping-off ceremony for the initial $75 million phase of the Hilton Garden Inn project in Suva, Prof Prasad remarked that this project represents a new milestone for the Carpenters Group and is set to transform Suva’s tourism sector.

The Hilton Garden Inn project, in collaboration with Carpenters Group and the Hilton brand, will feature 178 rooms upon the completion of its first phase in August next year, alongside various amenities including a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, parking facilities, and backup power and water supplies.

Prof Prasad emphasized that Fiji’s commitment to prudent fiscal policies, economic reforms, and macroeconomic stability has made it a competitive and appealing destination for investors. He noted that investor confidence is vital for sustainable development, assuring that the government will continue to implement policies fostering business growth, enhancing investor trust, and promoting innovation.

Encouraging other businesses to be inspired by Carpenters Group, Prof Prasad urged them to take advantage of the investment opportunities in Fiji’s flourishing economy.

Kunaseelan Subaratna, director of retail marketing at Carpenters Fiji Pte Limited, expressed pride in the company’s significant evolution and its recognition as a key player in shaping Fiji’s commercial landscape, contributing to its standing as a leading Pacific nation and a sought-after holiday destination globally.

He stated that the completion of the 178-room Hilton Garden Inn is expected to attract numerous customers and aims to establish a new standard not only in the country but throughout the region and worldwide. He also noted the hotel’s suitability to enhance business travel, particularly in strengthening Suva’s position as a hub for diplomatic activities in the Pacific.
