Fiji’s Human Rights Journey: What’s Next for Geneva 2025?

Attorney-General Graham Leung will head Fiji’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in an interactive dialogue regarding Fiji’s State Report during the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group scheduled for January 2025. This decision follows the Cabinet’s approval for the submission of Fiji’s State Report to the Universal Working Group Secretariat.

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process is a member state-driven initiative, reviewing each country’s human rights record every four to five years. Fiji’s last review took place in November 2019, and the upcoming review will mark the fourth assessment of Fiji under the UPR mechanism.
