The talents of staff members from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva were celebrated at HOTEC 2024, an annual gathering organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association. This year’s notable winners included Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who triumphed in the Barista Competition for the third consecutive time, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. Her continued success reflects her remarkable skill and commitment to her craft. Theodore Reyes, also from the InterContinental Fiji, was awarded first place in the Bartender Competition, impressing the panel of judges with his creative cocktails, which featured locally sourced ingredients.
Another standout from InterContinental was Anesh Anushal Goundar, who was a runner-up in the Chef Competition, showcasing his culinary talents through dishes inspired by local Fijian flavors. Additionally, Brandon Solvalu from Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva represented FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts with great enthusiasm, highlighting the impressive food and beverage talent within Fiji’s hospitality sector.
