This annual event took place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and served as a gathering for Fiji’s hospitality professionals, recognizing achievements and innovations in the tourism sector.
Among the notable winners this year was Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who triumphed in the Barista Competition for the third time, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. This accolade highlights her exceptional skills and passion for coffee making. Theodore Reyes, also representing InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, claimed victory in the Bartender Competition. His cocktails, which creatively utilized local ingredients, impressed the judges. Anesh Anushal Goundar from the same resort was honored as Runner-Up in the Chef Competition, showcasing his culinary artistry with dishes inspired by Fijian flavors.
Additionally, team members Brandon Solvalu from Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva contributed to showcasing the robust talent in food and beverage within Fiji’s hospitality sector, reflecting a commitment to excellence across FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts.
