The staff members from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva were honored at HOTEC 2024, an annual event organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association. This distinguished event took place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and serves as a gathering for hospitality professionals in Fiji to recognize achievements, foster innovation, and envision the future of tourism in the region.
Among the highlights of this year’s event were several standout performers. Hansini Gounder from the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa clinched first place in the Barista Competition for an impressive third time, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. Her repeated success underscores her extraordinary talent and commitment to the craft of coffee making.
Theodore Reyes, also from the same resort, stood out by winning the Bartender Competition, captivating judges with his creative use of local ingredients in his cocktail recipes. Additionally, Anesh Anushal Goundar from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa earned the Runner-Up position in the Chef Competition, showcasing his culinary prowess through dishes inspired by Fijian flavors.
Other participants included Brandon Solvalu from the Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva, all demonstrating the exceptional food and beverage talent within FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts. Their participation illustrated the pride and professionalism of these establishments in the hospitality sector.
