Staff members from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva were honored at HOTEC 2024, an annual event organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association. This event took place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and serves as a gathering for Fiji’s hospitality professionals to celebrate accomplishments, innovation, and the promising future of the tourism sector.
Notable achievements this year included Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who secured first place in the Barista Competition for the third time, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. Her consistent performance highlights her exceptional skills and passion for coffee crafting.
Theodore Reyes, also representing InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, earned the top spot in the Bartender Competition, captivating the judges with his creative use of local ingredients in his cocktail creations. Meanwhile, Anesh Anushal Goundar from the same resort was recognized as the Runner-Up in the Chef Competition, skillfully presenting dishes that were rich in Fijian flavors.
Additionally, Brandon Solvalu from Grand Pacific Hotel, along with Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva, showcased their talents, bringing enthusiasm and professionalism to the event. Together, they highlighted the impressive capabilities within Fiji’s food and beverage sector under the FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts umbrella.
