Fiji’s Hospitality Stars Shine at HOTEC 2024!

The talents of the staff from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva were honored at HOTEC 2024, an annual event organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association. Taking place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, HOTEC serves as a gathering for Fiji’s hospitality professionals where achievements, innovative practices, and the potential future of tourism in the country are celebrated.

This year, notable winners included Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who clinched first place in the Barista Competition for the third consecutive time, reinforcing her remarkable skills and passion for the craft of coffee making, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. Theodore Reyes, also from the same resort, took home the title in the Bartender Competition, impressing judges with his creative use of local ingredients in his cocktails. Anesh Anushal Goundar from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa was recognized as Runner-Up in the Chef Competition, highlighting his culinary expertise with dishes that celebrate Fijian flavors.

Additionally, representatives Brandon Solvalu from Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva showcased enthusiasm and professionalism, further emphasizing the exceptional food and beverage talent among FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts.
