At the recent HOTEC 2024, organized by the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, the talents of staff from the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva were celebrated. This annual event highlights achievements, innovation, and the promising future of tourism in Fiji.
Noteworthy recognitions included Hansini Gounder from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, who claimed first place in the Barista Competition for the third time, marking her previous achievements in both 2017 and 2018. Her repeated success underscores her dedication and skill in coffee preparation.
Theodore Reyes, also from InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, triumphed in the Bartender Competition by delighting judges with his creative use of local ingredients in creating unique cocktails.
In addition, Anesh Anushal Goundar from the same resort earned the title of Runner-Up in the Chef Competition, showcasing elaborate dishes that drew inspiration from Fijian culinary traditions.
The event also featured contributions from Brandon Solvalu of Grand Pacific Hotel and Mereoni Ligadua and Malakai Kauyaca from Holiday Inn Suva, who proudly represented FNPF Owned IHG Hotels & Resorts, reflecting the exceptional food and beverage expertise within Fiji’s hospitality sector.
