Fiji’s Homecoming Concert Strikes a Chord and Boosts Economy by $1 Million!

Tony Whitton, managing director of Rosie Holidays Fiji, praised the organizers of the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert for its significant economic impact, estimating that around $1 million was injected into the local economy over the two-day event.

Whitton expressed admiration for the professionalism of the organizers, noting that the concert not only inspired attendees but also attracted visitors from Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, and Vanuatu. He remarked, “Not only did it provide a delight for the community, there was also a very obvious economic benefit,” emphasizing the concert’s positive effects on visitor arrivals and various related services, including VIP arrangements, stage setup, lighting, and security.

He commended George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso for his vision in hosting the concert.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica described the concert as an inspiring and emotional experience, labeling it a “performance for the ages.” He expressed pride in George Veikoso’s achievements, highlighting that he performed for a straight 90 minutes and calling the event an uplifting experience for attendees.

Kamikamica also noted that the concert served as a showcase for Pacific Islands talent, bringing Pasifika talent to a global audience.
