Tony Whitton, managing director of Rosie Holidays Fiji, praised the organizers of the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert for its substantial economic impact, estimating that around $1 million was infused into the local economy during the two-day event. Whitton expressed admiration for the professionalism of the event’s organizers, noting that they not only inspired attendees but also attracted visitors from Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, and Vanuatu.
He stated, “Not only did it provide a delight for the community, there was also a very obvious economic benefit. This concert had a significant influence on our visitor arrival numbers and greatly contributed to the economy in various sectors, including VIP services, stage setup, lighting, and security.”
Whitton further commended George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso for his vision in organizing the concert.
Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica also reflected on the concert, describing it as inspiring and emotional, dubbing it a “performance for the ages.” He remarked, “For those of us lucky enough to attend, it was an emotional, inspirational, and uplifting experience. My Tailevu did not disappoint. He sang for an impressive 90 minutes nonstop. I am incredibly proud of George Veikoso and his achievements. May his music and talent inspire us all.”
Kamikamica highlighted that the concert was not only a celebration of Veikoso’s artistry but also a platform to showcase the rich musical talent of the Pacific Islands to a global audience.
