Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammad Yusuf expressed optimism about the country’s first-ever women’s futsal team competing in the inaugural OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands. He highlighted that the team comprises national-level players who are well-prepared for the competition.
“The coach has selected all the national-level players for the women’s futsal team; also the experience is there so I don’t think they’ll be under pressure,” Yusuf commented.
He expressed high hopes for the team’s performance, aiming for a spot in the finals and a chance to qualify for the Futsal World Cup next year. Yusuf also acknowledged the support from Fiji’s national sports commission chair Peter Mazey and Minister for Sports Jese Saukuru in facilitating the team’s preparations.
