For the first time in history, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces is hosting the RFMF Reconciliation and Restoration event at the Sukunaivalu Barracks in Labasa.

The day’s activities commenced with a church service that set a reflective and healing atmosphere for the event.

After the service, a series of talanoa sessions will take place, led by the Commander of the RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, along with former military personnel who participated in the takeover of Sukunaivalu VC Barracks.

Although the event was scheduled to conclude with a traditional Fijian reconciliation ceremony called veisorosorovi, which aims to seek forgiveness in a meaningful act of reconciliation, this segment has been postponed and will now occur tomorrow.

Additionally, the RFMF will reach out for forgiveness from the Province of Macuata in a reconciliation ceremony that will follow Fijian protocol.
