The Republic of Fiji Military Forces is hosting the inaugural RFMF Reconciliation and Restoration event at the Sukunaivalu Barracks in Labasa.
The day’s activities commenced with a church service, establishing a reflective and healing atmosphere for the event.
Following the service, Commander of the RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, will lead a series of talanoa sessions with former military members involved in the takeover of Sukunaivalu VC Barracks.
Although the event was initially scheduled to conclude with a traditional Fijian reconciliation ceremony known as veisorosorovi, this segment has been postponed and will now take place tomorrow.
Additionally, the RFMF plans to seek forgiveness from the Province of Macuata in a reconciliation ceremony that will observe traditional Fijian protocols.
