A national celebration will be held for Team Fiji, during which the Coalition Government will distribute the promised financial rewards. Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, made this announcement at a traditional welcoming ceremony for the Fiji Men’s and Women’s 7s teams in Nadi yesterday.
The government previously revealed an incentive structure of $50,000 for gold medalists, $20,000 for silver, and $10,000 for bronze. As silver medal holders, the Fiji Men’s 7s team will receive $20,000 as announced by Saukuru. He assured the team that they would receive their funds after the rest of Team Fiji, currently in Paris, return.
Minister Saukuru congratulated both teams for their accomplishments and expressed his hope for further success in future competitions.
