On Sunday, the engineering team from Fiji Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Services successfully delivered a new CT Scan machine to the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital. This advancement is a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare services in Fiji, facilitated by a COVID-19 grant from the Government of Japan.

The Ministry of Health & Medical Services has expressed its gratitude to Japan for their support in improving the country’s medical facilities. The Ministry has also acknowledged the public’s understanding and patience as they continue to upgrade healthcare services for all Fijians.

This recent installation of the CT Scan machine reflects ongoing efforts to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Fiji. Similar initiatives have been seen recently, including the successful restoration of a Digital Portable X-Ray Machine at Savusavu Hospital, which greatly improved healthcare access for that community. In addition, the renovation of the Emergency Department at Labasa Hospital has also been completed, supported by the Korean International Cooperation Agency, highlighting a broader commitment to enhancing local healthcare services.

These developments illustrate a hopeful trajectory for healthcare in Fiji as the government and international partners strive to modernize facilities, improve access to medical services, and ensure better health outcomes for the population. Collectively, these efforts symbolize the positive impact of international cooperation on Fiji’s healthcare landscape, promising a brighter future for medical care across the nation.
