Fiji’s Health Ministry Confirms Zero Mpox Cases: What You Need to Know

The Health Ministry has announced that there are currently no confirmed cases of Mpox in Fiji. In a statement issued this evening, the ministry confirmed that laboratory testing for suspected Mpox cases is being conducted at the Fiji Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

The ministry urges anyone who has traveled internationally and is experiencing symptoms such as fever, body aches, and a blistering rash to seek medical attention immediately. Mpox is classified as a national notifiable disease, and the ministry emphasizes the importance of early reporting by medical professionals to help prevent and manage any outbreaks.

The Health Ministry will continue its surveillance efforts for the early detection of cases, keep an eye on the global situation, and collaborate with the World Health Organization and other partner agencies to respond appropriately to any new developments.
