Fiji’s Hansel McCaig Shatters Records at World Aquatics Championships!

Pacific Gold medallist Hansel McCaig delivered an impressive performance at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest, where he finished fifth in the heat for the 100m Individual Medley. McCaig not only attained a personal best time of 50.47 seconds but also established a new Fiji National Record.

The 20-year-old swimmer distinguished himself with a strong reaction time of 0.58 seconds at the start, which played a crucial role in his competitive edge during the race. He demonstrated consistent skill and speed throughout the event, achieving notable split times of 11.13, 12.68, 13.29, and 13.37 in his final lap.

McCaig showcased remarkable resilience and determination in this prestigious event, competing alongside fellow swimmers and family members Tolu Young and Marselima Moss.
