Fiji’s National Development Plan presents an ambitious vision for the country’s future, according to Lands Minister Filimoni Vosarogo. Speaking at the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s annual business forum, he emphasized that the key to realizing this vision lies in effective execution and collaboration among government, private sector, and civil society.

Minister Vosarogo pointed out that achieving sustainable economic growth requires concerted efforts to turn policies into real results. He stressed that strategic collaboration, accountability, and the ability to adapt to market changes are pivotal for success.

Highlighting Fiji’s abundant natural resources—fertile lands, minerals, and rich marine ecosystems—he noted that their true potential can only be realized through sustainable practices. He called for both domestic and foreign investment in pivotal sectors such as infrastructure, technology, and skills development to unlock this potential and foster economic growth.

Mr. Vosarogo underscored the importance of the primary industries as significant contributors to Fiji’s GDP and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing supportive policies and incentives for these sectors. However, he urged stakeholders from all sectors to contribute their resources and commitment towards this collective goal.

By working together, he believes Fiji can achieve self-sufficiency, create job opportunities, enhance livelihoods, and boost exports to enrich the national economy further.

This vision presents a hopeful outlook for Fiji’s future, as collaboration across sectors could ultimately lead to a robust and sustainable economy that benefits all citizens.
