Tourists arriving in Fiji, especially those who came in on the Crown Princess cruise ship yesterday, are keenly aware of the country’s remarkable growth over recent years. The cruise made a stop in Suva as part of its journey through the Pacific, attracting a diverse group of travelers, many of whom are returning visitors.
Among them, 71-year-old Diana Fryer and her 73-year-old husband Eli, from Melbourne, have visited Fiji numerous times and shared their thoughts on the country’s evolution. Mrs. Fryer noted that Suva stands out as a prime example of this transformation.
“We’ve just walked from the ship where it’s docked, and we’ve strolled through the botanical gardens and the museum,” Mrs. Fryer shared. They explored notable locations such as the Grand Pacific Hotel and the Holiday Inn, spending about two and a half hours enjoying the city.
Mrs. Fryer remarked on the noticeable advancements over their multiple visits, suggesting that Suva appears to be a step ahead compared to other cities they have experienced.
The cruise journey commenced in Sydney and included stops in Mystery Island (Vanuatu), Lautoka, and Suva, with Taveuni as the final destination before returning to Sydney.
This influx of tourists and their positive feedback reflect not only the growing interest in Fiji as a travel destination but also the ongoing development and improvements in the local infrastructure and attractions. Such developments promise to enhance the tourist experience and contribute positively to the economy, making Fiji an increasingly appealing place for both newcomers and returning visitors.
In summary, as travelers like the Fryers express enthusiasm for Fiji’s growth, the region’s tourism sector can look forward to ongoing success and further development, bolstered by returning visitors who appreciate the changes they observe.
