The Republic of Fiji Military Forces is hosting its inaugural RFMF Reconciliation and Restoration event at the Sukunaivalu Barracks in Labasa.
The day commenced with a church service, establishing a somber yet hopeful atmosphere for a day dedicated to healing and reflection.
Following the service, the Commander of the RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, will lead a series of talanoa sessions, joined by former military personnel involved in the takeover of the Sukunaivalu VC Barracks.
Although the event was originally planned to close with a traditional Fijian reconciliation ceremony known as veisorosorovi, where the RFMF seeks forgiveness in a meaningful act of reconciliation, this segment has been postponed and will now take place tomorrow.
Additionally, tomorrow, the RFMF will extend its gesture of seeking forgiveness to the Province of Macuata in a ceremony that will follow Fijian protocols.
