Fiji’s Future Unveiled: The National Development Plan Launches Next Week

The National Development Plan is set to be launched on Tuesday, September 17. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof Biman Prasad, confirmed this announcement, describing the launch as a significant event for both the government and the citizens.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to lead the launch. Prof Prasad noted that the plan has been developed after extensive consultations with both private and public sectors.

He emphasized the importance of the National Development Plan, indicating that it will prioritize crucial areas. During the consultations, Fijians raised critical issues, including access to water, rural electrification, enhanced network connectivity, improved road infrastructure, and the expansion of health services.

The new National Development Plan will encompass a three-year, five-year, and a 20-year strategy for Fiji, serving as a comprehensive blueprint for the nation’s future.
