Fiji’s Future Unveiled: The Historic National Development Plan Launch

The National Development Plan is set to be launched on Tuesday, September 17th, as confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Prof. Biman Prasad. He described the launch as a historic occasion for both the government and the citizens.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to officially unveil the National Development Plan next Tuesday. Prof. Prasad emphasized that the initiative has been developed through extensive consultations with both private and public sectors.

He pointed out the significance of the National Development Plan, asserting that it will focus on key areas that need to be addressed and prioritized.

During the public consultations, Fijians highlighted critical issues including access to water, rural electrification, improved network connectivity, better road infrastructure, and expanded health services.

The new National Development Plan will encompass a comprehensive strategy for the next three years, five years, and even extend to a 20-year outlook for Fiji. This document is poised to serve as the guiding framework for the country’s future development.
