The National Development Plan is set to be inaugurated next Tuesday, September 17, as confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof. Biman Prasad. He emphasized that this event will mark a significant milestone for both the government and the populace.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is slated to officially launch the National Development Plan. According to Prof. Prasad, the plan has been developed after extensive consultations with both the private and public sectors.
Prof. Prasad underscored the importance of the National Development Plan, stating that it will prioritize and address key areas. During public consultations, citizens identified critical concerns such as access to water, rural electrification, enhanced network connectivity, improved road infrastructure, and expanded health services.
The new National Development Plan outlines a roadmap for the next three years, five years, and extends up to twenty years for Fiji. This document is anticipated to serve as a foundational blueprint for the country’s future.
