The Fiji Under-15 Boys football squad has undergone a significant reduction from 40 to 23 players following an intensive two-week trial period. The selected players are now in a training camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba, where they are honing their skills and strategies in preparation for the upcoming OFC U-15 Boys Youth Development Tournament, scheduled to take place in New Zealand from April 15 to 23, 2025.

While the current squad will continue training, the final traveling team of 16 players will be announced on April 7, just a week prior to their departure. This rigorous selection process emphasized the importance of developing young talent in Fiji, mirroring similar initiatives that focus on nurturing athletes across various age groups, including preparations for other national teams such as the Fiji Schoolboys under-18 team.

The commitment to youth sports highlights a national strategy aimed at bolstering Fiji’s footballing future and encourages aspiring athletes to excel in international arenas. As the players engage in intense training, there is a collective hope that their hard work and dedication will pave the way for success on the global stage. This ambitious approach not only aims to reinforce the team’s skills but also fosters a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence within Fijian football.
