Fiji’s Future Masters: JNC and MGM Shine at National Chess Championship

Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious in the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.

Jai Narayan College, led by Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points. Meanwhile, MGM claimed the primary school division championship with 10 points.

Goru Arvind, General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for bringing back the championship after a five-year break.

Marist Brothers High School finished as runners-up in the secondary schools division with 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School secured second place in the primary school division with 5 points.

The championship included a total of 12 school teams.
