Adi Alisi Neisulu has officially taken on the role of Head Girl at Adi Cakobau School, where she is determined to excel academically and athletically. At just 18 years old, Neisulu recently made her debut with the national netball team, the Fiji Pearls, during the PacificAus Sports Netball Series in Brisbane. Her induction ceremony, held in Sawani, marked the beginning of her leadership journey.
Neisulu is eager to enhance her school’s academic performance and create an environment that empowers students to harness their potential. Drawing from her experience as the deputy head girl last year, she feels prepared for the responsibilities associated with her new position, understanding that peers, faculty, and administrators will be looking to her for guidance. “It’s not easy being the head girl of the school. Everyone is looking to you to lead and uphold the school rules and standards,” she stated, acknowledging the weight of her role.
To manage her responsibilities effectively, Neisulu emphasizes the importance of time management and diligence. “I just keep working hard, managing my time wisely, and staying diligent with my responsibilities,” she remarked. Her story serves as an inspiration, demonstrating how to balance a demanding academic curriculum with competitive athletics. She encourages young athletes to chase their dreams with unwavering determination, emphasizing, “Without determination, you cannot start. If you want it, go for it.”
Neisulu’s devotion to leadership in academics and sports reflects the potential of Fiji’s youth. Her story resonates with similar narratives from students at All Saints Secondary School and Waiqele Primary School, who are also assuming leadership roles while pursuing their personal and academic goals. These collective experiences highlight the resilience and ambition of young people across Fiji, showcasing that, with hard work and community support, remarkable achievements are well within reach.
This hopeful outlook signifies not only a bright future for Neisulu but also for the next generation of leaders in Fiji.
