Fiji’s Future at Stake: National Development Plan Set for Historic Launch

The National Development Plan is set to be launched on Tuesday, September 17, as confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad. He indicated that the event will mark a significant moment for both the government and the citizens.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will preside over the launch next week. The plan has been developed following extensive consultations with both the private sector and the public, according to Professor Prasad.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the National Development Plan, stating that it will focus on and prioritize crucial areas. Key issues raised by Fijians during the consultations include access to water, rural electrification, enhanced connectivity, improved road infrastructure, and expanded healthcare services.

The new National Development Plan will encompass strategies for three, five, and 20 years, serving as a blueprint for the future of Fiji.
