Fiji’s Future: A Revolutionary National Development Plan Unveiled!

The National Development Plan is set to be launched next week on Tuesday, September 17th, as confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Prof Biman Prasad. He stated that this event will mark a historic moment for both the government and the citizens.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is expected to officiate the launch of the National Development Plan. According to Prof Prasad, the plan has been developed through extensive consultations with both the public and private sectors.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the National Development Plan, indicating that it will prioritize and address critical areas. Fijians have expressed their concerns during the consultations, highlighting essential issues such as access to clean water, rural electrification, improved connectivity, inadequate roads, and the need for expanded health services.

The National Development Plan will encompass short-term (3-year), medium-term (5-year), and long-term (20-year) strategies for Fiji, and is anticipated to serve as a comprehensive blueprint for the country’s future.
